Privacy Policy
Last updated October 6, 2026
§ 1What we collect
- Account information: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn, the basic profile information that provider shares (name, email and whether the email is confirmed).
- Profile information: what you add to your profile, including your bar admissions and bar numbers, practice areas, experience, education, photo and contact details.
- Verification information: the results of our checks against official attorney directories, and signals we derive from your sign-in (for example whether your email domain matches your firm’s website).
- Content: your posts, the messages you send, and any reports you file.
- Resumes: if you upload a resume to draft your profile, we read it once and delete it when the draft is ready (or within a few hours if drafting fails). We keep only the profile you approve.
- Technical information: your IP address and browser details, used for sign-in security and rate limiting, and cookies that keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
§ 2How we use it
- To run Colawborate: show your profile and posts to verified members, deliver messages and send notifications.
- To verify that every member is a licensed attorney, and to prevent fraud, impersonation and abuse.
- To draft or polish your profile and posts when you ask the AI tools to.
- To respond to you, enforce our terms and comply with law.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
§ 3Who can see your information
- Verified members can see your profile (including the contact details you choose to add) and your posts once your profile is approved.
- Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation. We don’t review message content, except when needed to investigate a report, prevent abuse, or comply with law.
- The public and search engines can’t see profiles, posts or messages.
- Our administrators see profile and verification information to review applications and handle reports.
§ 4Service providers
We use a small number of providers to operate Colawborate, under agreements that limit their use of your data to providing their services to us:
- Website hosting and serverless computing (Netlify).
- Database hosting.
- Email delivery (Resend).
- AI processing (Anthropic). When you use AI drafting, the resume or details you provide, and public web pages about you, are processed to produce a draft. When our team runs a bar check, your name, firm and bar admissions are used to look up official records. Under its commercial terms, our AI provider does not use this data to train its models.
- Sign-in providers you choose (Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn).
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our members or others.
§ 5How long we keep it
We keep your account and profile while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, posts and messages from our active systems; copies may remain in backups for a limited period. We may keep records of verification decisions and moderation actions as long as needed to prevent fraud and abuse.
§ 6Your choices
- Edit your profile at any time.
- Turn message notification emails on or off in settings.
- Delete your account in settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, at support@colawborate.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we’ll honor them.
§ 7Security
We use encrypted connections, password-free sign-in links, limited administrator access and rate limiting. No system is perfectly secure, so keep the email account you sign in with secure.
§ 8Children
Colawborate is for licensed attorneys and isn’t directed to anyone under 18.
§ 9Changes and contact
If we make material changes, we’ll tell you by email or on the site. Questions: support@colawborate.com.
